  • Zheng, Baosen

    President of Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering(CSEE), China

    Mr. Zheng Baosen, is a senior engineer at professor grade, graduated from the major of electric power engineering and management engineering with bachelor degree.

    He served as the Vice General Manager of State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) ; President and General Manager of State Grid Heilongjiang Electric Power Company Limited; Director of Power Grid Construction Department of SGCC.

    With rich experience in operation and management of electric power companies, he once organized a number of major power plant construction projects and participated in the construction of Three Gorges Transmission and Transformation Project, Northwest 750KV Transmission Demonstration Project, Tibetan Grid Networking Project, 1000KV UHVAC Demonstration Project, ±800KV UHVDC Demonstration Project and other national major projects.

  • Akihiko Yokoyama

    President of Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ)

    Prof. Akihiko Yokoyama was born in Osaka, Japan in Oct., 1956. He graduated from Ph.D. course, Department of Electrical Engineering, The University of Tokyo Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. He became a faculty member in Electrical Engineering since 1984 in the University of Tokyo and he was granted professor title in Sep. 2000.

    Since Apr., 2008, he has been professor of department of Advanced Energy, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, the Univ. of Tokyo.

    Prof. Akihiko Yokoyama has held a number of positions in many international organizations and government since 2004.

    He became President of Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ) in 2017.

    He has memberships in IEEJ, IEEE, CIGRE, SICE, JSIAM, IEIEJ and Japan Society of Energy and Resources.

    His academic interests includes: power system planning, operation, control and analysis, deregulation, distributed generation, and smart grid.

  • Park, June Ho

    President of Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers(KIEE)

    Dr. Park received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 1978, 1980, and 1987, respectively. He has been a research engineer at Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute(KERI) from 1978 to 1980. Since 1981 he has been a faculty member of electrical engineering at Chungnam National University, Pusan National University, where he is currently a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interests include power system optimal operation and planning, electric load forecasting, distribution automation system, parallel processing of power system problems, energy management system of microgrid, and intelligent system applications to power systems. He has published several papers in IEEE Transactions on Power System.

    He has been a Visiting Scholar of Electrical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University in USA for the 1989. He served as the Organizing Committee member for the International Conference on Intelligent System Applications to Power Systems (ISAP '97). He has been a Visiting Professor of Electrical Engineering at University of British Columbia in Canada for the 2001. He served as the National Organizing Committee member for the 2003 International Federation of Automatic Control(IFAC) Symposium on Power Plants and Power Systems Control, Seoul, Korea. He has been a President of Power Engineering Society in Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers(KIEE) for the 2011. He is a President of the KIEE for the 2017.

  • CHAN, Kwok Cheung

    President of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) after 27 June 2017

    Ir Thomas K C Chan received his education in Hong Kong and United Kingdom. He has over 34 years of experience in the field of power and building services engineering. He is currently a Director, Building MEP, China Region of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, a renowned international engineering consultancy company.

    Ir Chan has also been active in various professional and academic community services in the past 20 years. He is currently the President of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Building Services Department of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has published and presented over 24 technical papers on power distribution system; power quality; and renewable energy and green building sustainable design in different symposia and international conferences. Ir Chan is a Registered Professional Engineer (Electrical and Building Services) and Fellow of The Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management (IHEEM), The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), and HKIE.

  • Presentation title:


    Prof. Xiaoxin ZHOU, male, Han ethnicity, born in April 1940, senior engineer equivalent to professor in ranking, Ph.D. candidate supervisor, elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1993, now is the Honorary President of China Electric Power Research Institute, and the Chairman of project and material division of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Prof. Zhou was awarded with the first-class prize of the first National Science and Technology Progress Award and again in 2008.

    Prof. Ching Chuen CHAN holds BSc, MSc, PhD, HonDSc, HonDTech degrees. Honorary Professor and Former Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong; Visiting Professor of MIT, University of Cambridge, etc; Founding President of the World Electric Vehicle Association; Senior Consultant to governments, Strategic Adviser or Independent Director of public companies and industries; Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, U.K., Chinese Academy of Engineering, IEEE, IET and HKIE. Recipient of the Royal Academy of Engineering Prince Philip Medal; Chinese Academy of Engineering Guang-Hua Prize, World Federation of Engineering (WFEO) Medal of Engineering Excellence; Gold Medal of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers; IEE International Lecture Medal; "Asia's Best Technology Pioneers" by Asiaweek; "Father of Asian Electric Vehicles" by Magazine Global View; "Pitamaha (Grandfather) of Electric Vehicle Technology" in India; "Environmental Excellence in Transportation Award" by Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE); published 11 books, over 300 technical papers and holds 9 patents.

    Prof. Yasunori MITANI, received his B.Sc., M.Sc. and D. Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Osaka University, Japan in 1981, 1983 and 1986, respectively. He was a Visiting Research Associate at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1994 to 1995. He is currently a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, and the Director of Industry-Academic Collaboration Division in Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan. His research interests are in the areas of analysis and control of power systems. He is the President of Power and Energy Society of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

    Prof. Heung Jae LEE received his B.S., M.S. , and Ph. D. degrees in Electrical Engineering, Seoul National University respectively in 1983, 1986, and 1990.

    He has been Professor, Kwangwoon University (1990 ~ Present) President-Elect, The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (2017. 1 ~ Present), Vice President, The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (2015. 1 – 2016. 12), President, Power Engineering Society in KIEE (2014), Vice President, Power Engineering Society in KIEE (2012.1 ~ 2013. 12), Secretary, ISAP 2006, Yongpyong Korea. (2006. 7), Visiting Professor, University of Washington, Seattle, USA (1995.8 ~ 1996. 8)

    His areas of research interest are powersystem operation and control, AI application to power systems, and expert control computer applications to power systems.
